The 5th generation wireless network also known as the 5G network is a next generation wireless network that is planned to unveil more potential over the previous 3G and 4G wireless networks. It is another generation of network unveiled in 2015 and it is planned to be faster than the current 4G networks.
With the fourth generation or the 4G wireless network, people can easily send messages, make video calls, connect to the internet and send files and information within minutes. Although, 4G LTE (long term evolution) wireless network was unveiled recently and this seems to be the foundation of the proposed 5G network since it is also faster than 4G wireless network but not up to what is expected from a 5G network.

According to specs, the 5G wireless network will allow people to easily upload and download extreme HD and 3D videos within minutes. This is because the 4G network can download at the rate of 1 GB per second; and according to specs, the 5G will be able to download at a minimum rate of 10 GB per second, which means HD or 3D videos will be downloaded around 10 minutes.
Another feature is that the latency period of the network will be reduced when compared to previous generations and this will enable people to connect to the internet faster than before. According to research carried out by Gartner, he predicted that by 2020 over 20 billion devices will be linked to the internet. For this reason, the 5G wireless network is being worked on to meet the rising demands of quick internet connections.
