OPPO made quite an impression with the launch of Find 7 back in 2014. It was a true flagship in all terms and was quite a performer. The only problem that it had was the price. People were not quite ready to buy a flagship smartphone from a Chinese manufacturer at a premium price.
For the reader’s information, the OPPO Find 7 came with Snapdragon 801, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage which was expandable up to 128 GB, Fast Charging, a beautiful 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels, a 13 megapixel rear camera that could take 2160p videos and a 5 megapixel front camera which could provide awesome selfies.
The Find 7 had everything going for it and provided some stiff competition to LG G3. But due to its popularity, LG was able to pull ahead. But now, things have changed and OPPO has made quite an impression with their smartphones. It has been two years since OPPO has launched a smartphone in their Find range. Now, there is information that they are going to launch the next phone, dubbed Find 9, in the month of June. If reports are to be believed, the Find 9 will be one hell of a smartphone, considering the fact that the Find 7 was a smartphone which was well ahead of its time.
Going by the rumored specs, the Find 9 will provide stiff competition to the current flagships if it is priced right. As of now, the Xiaomi Mi5 is the cheapest smartphone to come with Snapdragon 820. The Find 9 needs to be priced somewhere around the Mi5 to be successful. The Find 9’s display is going to receive a big boost from its predecessor. But considering the fact the Find 7 came with a 2K display, a boost would mean that the Find 9 would come with a 4K display. That is exactly what the reports are suggesting.
4K display
The Find 9 will be only the second phone to sport a 4K display, along with the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium. The phone will definitely have more than one variant and reports suggest that the top variant may well be the most powerful flagship. It comes with the Snapdragon 820, 6 gigs of RAM, 128 GB of internal storage and a combo of 21 MP rear camera and a 16 MP front camera. The price is expected to be around the $620 mark and this is okay considering the specs of the phone. Hopefully, they will be able to ward off the competition with the performance of the phone.
