LeEco, formerly known as LeTV, launched 2 phones in the Indian market. Until then, the market was flooded with phones from other Chinese manufacturers, and LeEco looked like just another player in the race. But that was not the case and they created quite a huge storm in the smartphone market.

The phone that was responsible for this was LeEco Le 1S. The Le 1S was priced at around $167 and had the specifications of a flagship that costs more than triple the price. The phone had the MediaTek Helio X10 chipset with an octa core processor clocked at 2.2GHz. Le 1S also has 3 gigs of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, full metal unibody, fingerprint scanner with a mirrored finish and even a USB Type-C connector. It is no surprise that the phone was selling like hot cakes. During the flash sales, more than 100,000 phones were sold in less than 15 seconds. Can they repeat the success of the Le 1S?

Looking at the leaked benchmarks, there is no doubt that the upcoming phone is a successor to the Le Max. There is still no official confirmation on the name of the phone, but it will definitely come out in the near future. For convenience, let’s just call it Le Max 2. The price of the phone might be a bit on the higher side, considering that Le Max was priced at around $500. But what is interesting is that the phone will not come in a single variant, but three.

The different variants include one with 3 gigs of RAM, 4 gigs of RAM and 6 gigs of RAM respectively. The storage options will most probably be 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB. According to the leaked reports, the 6 GB variant comes with the best chipset on the planet, the Snapdragon 820. The screen will be magnificent to look at with a Quad HD resolution and the standard 5.5inch size.

Like many of the other flagships, the new phone from LeEco comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Some manufacturers have opted for Android Lollipop on some of their flagships which is a really disappointing thing to see. As far as the Le Max 2 is concerned, this is not a problem. The rear camera is just legendary at 21 megapixels and can shoot videos up to 4K resolution. The front facing 8 megapixel camera can shoot up to QHD videos, which shows that the camera is nothing short of spectacular.

There is no official confirmation on the other specs of the phone like the design and battery. Even the different variants of the phone have not been revealed. It won’t be a surprise to see the 3GB and 4GB variants with a different chipset.  Nevertheless, it is undoubtedly clear that LeEco is here to stay and the flagship specifications of this phone just proves it beyond doubt.
