Out of all the countries in the world, India has seen the maximum number of Chinese manufacturers launching their phones. Brands like Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, Coolpad, Lenovo, Asus and many others have entered the Indian market and have had huge success. One brand that is not having a really good run is Gionee.
Gionee had impressed everyone with their initial smartphones which provided great value for money. But they’ve started advertising a lot these days and the prices of the phones have skyrocketed, even though they don’t provide great specs. Now, they’ve gone ahead with the launch of yet another phone which is priced higher than the Xiaomi Mi5, but comes with specifications that you can get under $150.
Gionee Marathon M5 Plus costs around $400 which is an absolute waste for a phone that doesn’t boast anything spectacular. The phone has a huge battery of 5020mAh and apart from that there is nothing special here. The phone doesn’t look like its worth more than $400 and it is absolutely clear that Gionee isn’t going to create much of an impact with this phone.
For starters, Coolpad Note 3 Plus comes with the exact same specifications as the Marathon M5 Plus, except for the battery and the screen. Not only that the Coolpad Note 3 Plus comes with a price tag of just around $140. Let’s just run through the specs of both these phones. The Gionee Marathon M5 Plus comes with a 6-inch Full HD AMOLED display. This is one of the plus points of the phone but a full HD resolution on a 6-inch display would drastically reduce the pixel density. The Coolpad Note 3 Plus comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display. Note 3 Plus has a higher pixel density but doesn’t have an AMOLED display.
