Every year, the audience is pretty much stunned by the release of every new LG product, and whether the product succeeds in meeting the customer’s anticipations or not, it’s undeniable that the LG brand has some major achievements in its bucket. However, the latest LG product, the G7 ThinQ, seems to generating some negative reviews as it isn’t noticeably different than its predecessors or even the current similar products at the market nowadays.
The new LG G7 ThinQ is pretty ordinarily designed; it’s a 6.1 inches long and has a notch at the very top of it. The G7 is flaunting a Snapdragon 845 processor, a RAM of 4 gigabytes, and a storage space of 64 gigabytes. The G7 also sports dual cameras, has a water and dust resistance level of IP68, and is wirelessly charged as well. All of the beforementioned features may be found in multiple other smartphones available at the moment – although not many products do come with the wireless charging feature; yet, the one G7 ThinQ feature that really stands out is the quad-DAC system implanted to significantly improve the audio quality.
And despite the improved audio quality that’s added to the new G7 ThinQ, the odds appear to be not in its favor. Many facets seem to be resources of annoyance for many LG customers. For instance, the notched LGG7 ThinQ should probably have ditched the notch; the notch isn’t executed according to high standards and it, unfortunately, looks out of decent shape and size. Also, with this LG product, the company adopted an LCD rather than an OLED in order to feed the screen extra brightness in the sunnier days; yet, the LCD option turned out to be more of a drawback rather than a thumps-up feature. The LCD doesn’t provide any extra illumination that a cheaper alternative can’t; plus, the LG G7 ThinQ loses a major OLED advantage, that’s the stark blackness that completely conceals the notch, and by adopting the LCD display, the G7 is stuck with a darker gray masking the notch rather than the complete black of the OLED.
It’s quite a disappointment that LG hasn’t managed to present a bundle of entirely non-repetitive features in the new G7 ThinQ; many of the features presented by the G7 smartphone are available in other options that are more appealing and offer bigger RAMs and storage capacities. On top, it was expected that the G7 is going to brag with the Al features incorporated in it; apparently we may have to await the next LG release – in the meantime, let’s pray the next LG isn’t as disappointing as the G7 ThinQ.
