If you own an IPhone and use Facebook Messenger at the same time, you will have to update your version of the messaging app immediately. A new update has been released by Facebook for the messaging app’s IOS version especially for those who faced the glitch on IOS 11. This update is meant to fix a bug that faced many users of the app on IPhone.
Facebook Messenger on IPhone
The annoying bug caused Facebook Messenger on IPhone to freeze completely after the user starts typing a few words which forces the user to close and restart Messenger after every single message they send. For some other users the bug was a little bit easier as it didn’t freeze the app entirely, just the keyboard would stop responding to the user’s taps on its letter buttons which is, of course, super annoying too, but at least it does not put the user in a position where he or she has to interrupt the conversation totally and shut the app down.
Many of the affected users took the problem to Twitter and used the competitor social media platform to vent the frustration they experienced from the bug. Some of them were under the impression that there was something wrong with the device itself, but restarting their IPhones and even removing and re-downloading Facebook Messenger app did not make the insufferable bug go away.
Facebook was informed of the problems caused by this bug on January 17th, and the glitch was fixed immediately with a proper apology from Facebook for the inconvenience that the company’s Messenger has caused to its users on IPhone. Facebook did not say, however, what was the reason for this bug or an exact number of the users who were affected by it, the giant company did not even respond to the press requests for any further information on the matter.
On the other hand, the keyboard of IOS itself has suffered from a few strange bugs on the course of the past few months. For example, in November of last year, users of IPad and IPhone were not able to type the letter “I”. When an IPhone or an IPad user tried in vain to type the letter “I”, the device produced by Apple, another giant in the technology world, would consider it a typing mistake that requires auto-correct and change the letter to the letter “A” or another strange symbol.
