Coolpad, the Chinese smartphone maker, has many devices starting at a low price. The next logical large step for the company now is to make an impressive offline presence with actual brick and mortar stores. This move is expected to happen quite soon.
Coolpad’s most recent launch, after the trend of dual camera’s, was the Cool Play 6. The back features dual lens at an impressive 13MP. The pitch now is for a device specifically for those who enjoy a lot of gaming with 6 gigs of RAM and a battery with a 4000mAh rating.
The Coolpad Cool Play 6 is going to be priced at Rs 14,999 in order to compete with phones such as the Lenovo K8 Note, the Lenovo Phab 2 Plus, the Honor 6X and even its very own Cool 1.
The specs are pretty impressive on the Cool Play 6 and include an HD 5.5-inch display, an Octa-core Snapdragon 653 processor, 6 gigs of RAM, 64 gigs of internal storage, which is expandable, dual 13MP rear cameras, 8MP front camera, Android Nougat and a Li-Ion 4000mAh battery.
In design, you will quickly be reminded of the Coolpad Cool 1 phone, which also comes equipped with dual rear cameras. It is sturdy with a nice, stylish finish and features antenna bands on both the top and bottom back cover.
The rear camera features dual LED flashes with a fingerprint button that is circular right below that. The sensor actually has a mirror finish, adding to the style quotient.
The Coolpad Cool Play 6 feels good in your hands because the sides curve nicely into the back and the corners are rounded off. It is easy to reach the fingerprint scanner, which adds to the ease of use. The right edge is home to both the power button as well as the volume rockers, while the USB Type-C port, for charging, as well as the 3.5mm headset jack sits nicely atop the device.
The display for the Cool Play 6 is 5.5 inches with full HD and the readability in direct sunlight can be adjusted so that the device is easy to see. Even when viewing at an angle, the colors look nice which makes for a better gaming experience all the way.
The rear cameras, which are the feature of the phone, offer many features of their own including mono photo option, long exposure, panoramic photo and even slow-motion video. You also have an array of photo filters available to you.
