The team working on Skype just made an announcement on the Skype official blog of an addition of two new features to its app. First there is the new Star Wars addition to the messaging application. The last Jedi as well as a new Storm Tropper mask are among the highlight feature on the Skype version for mobile.
The new set of emoticons that belongs to Star Wars world was released and where they easily found in the emoticon picker space in Skype. Just select your favorite one among the set and enjoy sending and receiving them from friends and family members whether they are near you or located in a galaxy far, far away.
The collection contains exactly ten new emoticons as a celebration of the new installment of Star Wars: The last Jedi, five of those emoticons are: Chewbacca, an adorable porg, Kylo Ren, BB-8, and Captin Phasma.
Newly added emoticons are considered to be routine for Skype, so what is more interesting is the mask feature which is quite similar to the one in Snapchat, it enables users to add a virtual masks to their faces, or as the Skype team preferred to describe it: “it is face effects for the users’ videos and photos to dress-up any chosen selfie”.
Mask feature can be even used to bring a little amusement to a boring video chat. The mask feature can be found once you tap “capture”, you will find a mask icon appeared at the top of your screen, tap on it to be able to browse through the mask options that will be displayed in front of you at the tap of your fingertip, select the mask you like most for your photo or video, and then you are able to share it to your Skype highlights and let your contacts see it or, if you prefer, share it privately with one or more friends in the chat window you share with them.
As mentioned before, both of these new features are available for the Skype version for mobile. So, in order for you to make yourself one with the Force during the upcoming holidays, you will just have to make sure that you have the latest version of the Microsoft-owned messaging app downloaded and installed to your smart phone to be able to enjoy both the mask feature and the new collection of Star Wars emoticons.
